Objectives
The main goal of the project is to intensify the participation of the Romanian scientific community to the "ESA contributing missions" through the development and intensification of the Atmospheric Remote Sensing (ARS) research activities.
Specific objectives
O1. Adjusting existing research capacities (human and material resources) to the requirements of European research infrastructures (EARLINET, AERONET, ICOS, IAGOS, ACTRIS)
- T1.1 Strengthening collaboration between
Romanian institution with expertise in ARS and complementary
- T1.2 Setup Romanian consortia to participate
to ICOS, IAGOS and ACTRIS
O2. Demonstration of Romanian research potential by participating to international campaigns to study aerosols, precursors, clouds and interactions
- T2.1 Developing software tools for data
processing and analysis in order to properly contribute to European
databases (EBAS, IAGOS, ICOS)
- T2.2 Participation to the continuous Calipso-EARLINET
CAL-VAL campaign
- T2.3 Participation to the
EMEP (Jan-Feb 2013) international campaign
- T2.4 Participation to the ACTRIS ACSM (June
2012 - May 2013) international campaign
- T2.5 Adjusting the UAV platform to carry
specific instruments for atmospheric measurements (month 19)
O3. Assessment of the potential use of UAV platforms to calibrate, validate and supplement ground-based in situ measurements
- T3.1 Organizing test flights for the
intercomparison of ground-based / airborne instruments (month 22)
- T3.2Organizing the ARS summer school,
including a demonstrative combined ground-based and airborne
campaign (month 22)
- T3.3 Investigation of possible synergies
between various parameters measured with airborne and ground-based
remote sensing instruments (month 27)
O4. Promotion, integration and sustainability of Romanian research capacities as part of European infrastructures for ARS
- T4.1 Promoting Romanian potential for ICOS,
IAGOS and ACTRIS
- T4.2 Organizing a GMES workshop on ARS
- T4.3 Participation to relevant international
conferences
- T4.4 Elaboration of scientific papers
- T4.5 Elaboration of a common research
programme for the next 10 years, to increase quantitatively and
